The world of computing is evolving day-by-day, in sync with the latest developments in technology. Among the most significant tech changes in recent times is facial recognition. Correspondingly, images, videos and other rich media have eaten into the space of text based content in a big way. As is always the case, computing technology has evolved to identify faces, objects, scenes, and activities in social media posts. For marketers, it translates to the ability to search images of products and logos of brands, a big jump from the hitherto text-only search capabilities.

Brands have long been able to search for company mentions on social media, but they've lacked the ability to search for pictures of their logos or products in an easy way. That's where Salesforce's latest Einstein artificial intelligence feature comes into play. Today the company introduced Einstein Vision for Social Studio, which provides a way for marketers to search for pictures related to their brands on social media in the same way they search for other mentions. The product takes advantage of a couple of Einstein artificial intelligence algorithms including Einstein Image Classification for image recognition. It uses visual search, brand detection and product identification.

Salesforce Brings Artificial Intelligence to CRM With Einstein

The near future of artificial intelligence (AI) won't be defined by ushering in a race of sentient machines. While we're inching closer to the goal of AI brain mapping, the next era of AI will be more about imbuing the software and applications we use every day with deep learning, machine learning, predictive analytics, and natural language processing (NLP). Those capabilities will run under the surface, along with serving as tools upon which to build. It's about making AI a given rather than a novelty. Customer relationship management (CRM) giant Salesforce unveiled its plan for more accessible, natively integrated AI for businesses today with the announcement of Salesforce Einstein, its "AI for CRM" technology.
